Hiebl Piedmont Hazelnut Spirit — 40 % vol, 35 cl
The world's finest hazelnut, entirely pure.
The base is the Piedmont hazelnut — for many the best there is: round, intense, deeply roasted. Since nuts cannot be fermented, they are steeped in alcohol and then distilled. The result is a "Geist": clear, dry, no cask influence — just the nut.
Clear, not cask
Unlike the oak-aged version, this spirit shows the hazelnut undisguised. No wood, no vanilla — instead the full, roasted fruit in its purest form.
Aroma & taste
Roasted hazelnut, nougat and a touch of marzipan on the nose. Dry and nut-driven on the palate, clear and precise, with a long, fine finish. Not a sweet liqueur — a true spirit.
How to enjoy it
Neat at around 16–18 °C in a brandy glass. A digestif that pairs beautifully with chocolate, pastries or coffee.

His aim is simple to state and hard to achieve: preserve the character of a fruit in its original form and concentrate it in the glass — until aroma, colour and taste become one. Nothing added from the outside, no shortcuts. Only the best raw fruit, carefully handled.
Single-variety by conviction
The range holds over 100 different fruit brandies and liqueurs. Hiebl specialises in single-variety distillation — especially of apples and pears — so each variety keeps its own character instead of disappearing into a blend.
Craft Distillery of the Year 2026
At Craft Spirits Berlin 2026, Europe's most important competition for craft spirits, Hiebl prevailed against 120 distilleries from 17 nations to take the overall title: Craft Distillery of the Year 2026. From 47 entries came four "Best in Class" golds, plus 19 further gold, 20 silver and 8 bronze medals — on top of several earlier "Distiller of the Year" honours.
