Cousine Jeune is the latest development from Dominique Rousselet, the master distiller and partner of the distillery les Fils d'Emile Pernot, in La Cluse et Mijoux, near Pontarlier in the French Jura - the region of origin of absinthe.
Floral and yet surprisingly strong, this clear absinthe is equally well received by connoisseurs and novices. The long finish is followed by a subtle bitter note on the palate, which is clearly polarizing. With its 65% it is in line with the most successful products from Pernot - l'Authentique and Vieux Pontarlier.You have to know that Cousin Jeune is an absinthe brand from the 19th century. Century is - namely the one that was based in the current buildings of Pernot. Cousin Jeune was also the one who helped Armand Guy financially to start his absinthe distillery in 1890.
